Dziś jest Międzynarodowy Dzień Walki z Rakiem, dzień który trudno nazwać świętem, ale jest potrzebny, aby przypominać o chorobie nowotworowej. Dzień, w którym wiele firm i instytucji udziela wsparcia i solidaryzuje się z chorymi organizując tematyczne akcje. Warto jednak to robić na co dzień, a nie tylko jak akurat jest okazja i wypada się pokazać w mediach. Choroba nowotworowa na całym świecie ciągle zbiera potężne żniwo, od lat „rak” nazywany jest cesarzem chorób.
Ważna profilaktyka
Przepełnione szpitale, brak specjalistów i czekanie w długich kolejkach na diagnostykę lub kontrolę nie pomaga i frustruje. A chorych z dnia na dzień jest coraz więcej. Na pewno ważna jest profilaktyka, z którą u nas wciąż nie jest za dobrze. Ciągle słyszymy, że ten czy tamten zachorował. Jednak odpychamy od siebie myśl, że może to się przytrafić także nam lub naszym bliskim.
Kiedy dopada nas choroba jest żal, pretensje i chęć cofnięcia czasu. Warto żyć ze spokojną głową i przynajmniej raz w roku wybrać się do ginekologa, wykonać cytologię i poprosić o ile lekarz sam nie zaproponuje badanie piersi. To samo dotyczy panów, którzy jak ognia unikają słów urolog czy w ogóle jakiegokolwiek lekarza.
